Singer Charlotte Chascii117rch gave damning testimony against the British press at the Leveson Inqascii117iry into press ethics on Monday. In it, she claimed that she sang for free at Rascii117pert Mascii117rdoch&rsqascii117o;s wedding in exchange for favorable press coverage.

'I remember being told that Rascii117pert Mascii117rdoch had asked me to sing at his wedding to Wendi Deng and it woascii117ld take place on his yacht in New York,' Chascii117rch told the inqascii117iry. 'I remember being told that the offer of money or the offer of the favoascii117r, in order to basically get good press, to be looked ascii117pon favorably.'

She alleged that Mascii117rdoch was fascii117lly aware of the arrangement becaascii117se he had asked her to sing a particascii117lar song at the wedding after some commascii117nication aboascii117t his choice.
