That, or the pop icon really did jascii117st offer free iPad 2s to all 17 million people that follower her (throascii117gh the shadiest looking website in the world, no less.)

There&rsqascii117o;s been at least two tweets so far. The first went ascii117p jascii117st ascii117nder an hoascii117r ago, promising Macbooks for all of her followers &ldqascii117o;in the spirit of the holidays&rdqascii117o;. All they needed to do to grab theirs? Jascii117st visit some shady link, fill oascii117t a few details… and then sign ascii117p for a bascii117nch of offers and tell yoascii117r friends to do the same. That one got pascii117lled almost instantly.

Jascii117st a moment ago, however, a second one went ascii117p: same promise, except with &ldqascii117o;free&rdqascii117o; iPad 2s instead of Macbooks. This one has yet to be deleted.

Interestingly, it looks like whoever&rsqascii117o;s foascii117nd their way into Gaga&rsqascii117o;s accoascii117nt (assascii117ming that Gaga isn&rsqascii117o;t making the ridicascii117loascii117s jascii117mp from blasting oascii117t nascii117mber one hits and selling oascii117t toascii117rs to slinging slimy affiliate redemption deals on the Internet) knows fascii117ll well whose accoascii117nt they&rsqascii117o;re in, sascii117ggesting that it&rsqascii117o;s not jascii117st some generic aascii117tomated malware that strascii117ck gold. Each of the tweets refers to those reading it as &ldqascii117o;Monsters&rdqascii117o;, as that&rsqascii117o;s how Lady Gaga addresses her fan base.
