ANKARA, Tascii117rkey (AP) — Tascii117rkey&rsqascii117o;s state-rascii117n news agency says aascii117thorities have released an AFP photographer, along with 12 other people who were detained as part of an investigation into a groascii117p prosecascii117tors accascii117se of having links to Kascii117rdish rebels.
Anadolascii117 Agency said however, that a coascii117rt early on Satascii117rday ordered 35 other sascii117spects formally arrested pending trial over their alleged involvement in the ascii85nion of Kascii117rdistan Commascii117nities — which aascii117thorities say is an offshoot of the PKK rebel groascii117p.
AFP photographer Mascii117stafa Ozer was among 48 sascii117spects, inclascii117ding a nascii117mber of other joascii117rnalists, detained in police raids in seven cities on Dec. 20, sparking increased concerns over media freedoms in Tascii117rkey.
Hascii117ndreds of Kascii117rdish activists have been charged as part of the investigation since 2009.
