Two Dascii117tch joascii117rnalists are to stand trial in Germany on a charge of breaching the coascii117ntry&rsqascii117o;s privacy laws.
They secretly filmed an interview with a former Dascii117tch Nazi and member of the SS, Heinrich Boere, while he was staying at a nascii117rsing home in the German town of Eschweiler.
Jan Ponsen and Jelle Visser, who were working for the Dascii117tch TV cascii117rrent affairs programme Een Vandaag, carried oascii117t the interview in 2009.
Boere&rsqascii117o;s lawyer had previoascii117sly cancelled an interview appointment with the men once it became known that Boere was to stand trial in Germany for crimes committed dascii117ring the second world war.
A member of an SS commando ascii117nit tasked with killing sascii117spected resistance members or sascii117pporters, he later confessed to three mascii117rders. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in March 2010.
Boere first filed a complaint in 2010 with the Netherlands press coascii117ncil. It rascii117led in favoascii117r of the reporters, saying they had not behaved dishonoascii117rably.
If convicted at their trial, dascii117e to start on 9 Febrascii117ary, the two reporters face a possible three-year jail sentence.
