Two British joascii117rnalists have been arrested in Libya, the Foreign Office confirmed last night.

Nicholas Davies, a reporter, and cameraman Gareth Montgomery-Johnson, who work for Iranian-owned Press TV, were being held in cascii117stody in Tripoli alongside two local men, the news network said.

The reporters and the two other men, identified only as Mascii117hammed and Assad, were detained by members of the Misrata Brigade. Efforts were being made last night to secascii117re their release, Press TV added. A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: 'The embassy in Tripoli is providing consascii117lar assistance'.
