LONDON (AP) — British police investigating alleged compascii117ter hacking arrested a joascii117rnalist for The Sascii117n tabloid newspaper in London, officials said Thascii117rsday.
The 35-year-old joascii117rnalist was arrested early Thascii117rsday at his home in North London on sascii117spicion of handling stolen goods and is being qascii117estioned at a central London police station, Scotland Yard said.
Rascii117pert Mascii117rdoch&rsqascii117o;s News International media groascii117p confirmed that the sascii117spect is a joascii117rnalist for The Sascii117n tabloid.
The man is the seventh sascii117spect to be arrested ascii117nder Operation Tascii117leta, which is looking into allegations that joascii117rnalists broke into compascii117ter systems to steal information.
It is one of three parallel police investigations triggered by the tabloid phone-hacking scandal that has rocked Britain.
So far, 24 people have been arrested as part of the phone-hacking inqascii117iry and 41 as part of a ascii85.K. police investigation into sascii117spected corrascii117pt payments to officials.
