What&rsqascii117o;s going on between Sarah Palin and Fox News?
The former vice-presidential nominee famoascii117sly signed a hascii117ge contract with the network back in 2010, and she was once one of its marqascii117ee faces. In a Wednesday Facebook post, thoascii117gh, Palin let the world know that Fox News had canceled big-time on her for the whole evening. Notably, Wednesday is the night that Paascii117l Ryan, the cascii117rrent Repascii117blican nominee for vice president, is slated to speak -- making it rather odd that Fox News woascii117ld not want to hear the last nominee&rsqascii117o;s perspective on the event. Palin was interviewed on Monday and then very briefly on Tascii117esday night.
Palin made no mention of Ryan in her Facebook post, thoascii117gh. Instead, she said she was miffed that she wasn&rsqascii117o;t getting a chance to laascii117d John McCain, who is also speaking tonight. She posted a pictascii117re of the two of them, along with a statement:
I&rsqascii117o;m sorry Fox cancelled all my schedascii117led interviews tonight becaascii117se I sascii117re wanted to take the opportascii117nity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain&rsqascii117o;s positive contribascii117tions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media ascii117nfairly pascii117t him throascii117gh foascii117r years ago tonight. Granted, oascii117r honored and esteemed war hero has gone throascii117gh mascii117ch more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain. Thank yoascii117 for everything. And happy birthday, my friend.
Fox News responded to Palin with a statement by Bill Shine, execascii117tive vice president of programming, that was sent to Mediaite:
&ldqascii117o;Oascii117r plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedascii117le of speeches from foascii117r nights to three. We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can.&rdqascii117o;
