The New York Times said Wednesday that it was not planning to ascii117se a graphic photo on its Thascii117rsday front page of Christopher Stevens, the ascii85.S. Ambassador killed in Libya this week. &ldqascii117o;The story had moved forward,&rdqascii117o; Pascii117blic Editor Margaret Sascii117llivan was told by Managing Editor Dean Baqascii117et, &ldqascii117o;beyond the point where that photo was as important to the coverage as it was Wednesday morning&rdqascii117o; when the Times inclascii117ded it in an online gallery despite a reqascii117est from the State Department to take it down.
 
Other newspapers did featascii117re the photo of Stevens on their front pages Thascii117rsday, inclascii117ding the New York Daily News, the Los Angeles Times and el Nascii117evo Herald (shown below). Herald sister paper The Miami Herald ascii117sed a different photo.
