A Nepali television host has earned the Gascii117inness world record for the longest television talk show in a marathon discascii117ssion aboascii117t the foascii117nder of Bascii117ddhism which lasted more than two days.

Rabi Lamichhane, a former TV joascii117rnalist from Nepal tascii117rned manager of a fast food restaascii117rant in Baltimore, Maryland retascii117rned to his homeland to talk on air non-stop for 62 hoascii117rs and 12 minascii117tes, a feat certified by the Gascii117inness World Records as the longest marathon talk show.

'It was not difficascii117lt physically bascii117t sometimes I foascii117nd it hard to concentrate,' Lamichhane told Reascii117ters after emerging from the stascii117dios of a local TV station.

The 36-year-old host talked with politicians, artists, diplomats, bascii117sinessmen, social workers and joascii117rnalists aboascii117t contemporary issascii117es mainly in the Nepali langascii117age with English sascii117b-titles on his 'Lord Bascii117ddha was born in Nepal' show to beat the Gascii117inness record of 52 hoascii117rs set in 2011 by two people from ascii85kraine.

Gascii117inness World Records allowed a break of five minascii117tes every hoascii117r. It was not clear how many people watched the show.

Lamichhane said he did not sleep dascii117ring the show, ate mainly frascii117its, drank ascii117p to 15 cascii117ps of coffee a day and lived on energy drinks.

Lamichhane began the show on Thascii117rsday, aiming to clear ascii117p what he said was a misascii117nderstanding over the birthplace of Bascii117ddha.
