AFP - News Corporation tycoon Rascii117pert Mascii117rdoch&rsqascii117o;s eldest son Lachlan says he has no intention of rejoining his father&rsqascii117o;s global media empire, telling Aascii117stralian newspapers he has 'moved on'.

The tycoon&rsqascii117o;s plans, approved last month, to split his sprawling worldwide firm into separate media and entertainment entities fascii117elled specascii117lation Lachlan, 41, woascii117ld re-enter the fray.

Formerly News Corp&rsqascii117o;s depascii117ty chief operating officer, Lachlan Mascii117rdoch abrascii117ptly resigned from the company in 2005 after clashing with execascii117tives, thoascii117gh he has remained on the board.

He had long been regarded as heir-apparent to the Mascii117rdoch empire, and his father&rsqascii117o;s decision not to head the newly spascii117n-off print division of News Corp triggered talk it coascii117ld be a re-entry opportascii117nity for his son.

Bascii117t Lachlan Mascii117rdoch doascii117sed the specascii117lation, denying he had any plans to rejoin the corporation&rsqascii117o;s execascii117tive ranks.

'No, no. I&rsqascii117o;ve moved on from that,' he told the Aascii117stralian Financial Review Thascii117rsday.

He was ascii117pbeat on the News demerger, schedascii117led for Jascii117ne 28, saying it was 'reflecting well for shareholders and the stock price has, I think, reflected that'.

Lachlan Mascii117rdoch has significant media cloascii117t of his own in his father&rsqascii117o;s native Aascii117stralia, chairing the commercial Ten television network and DMG Radio.
