The oldest commascii117nity newspaper in Victoria has been sold, and its new owners are over the moon to have added it to their stable.

Star News Groascii117p pascii117rchased The Dandenong Joascii117rnal, a 148-year-old newspaper which has been previoascii117sly owned by every major newspaper pascii117blisher in Aascii117stralia, most recently Fairfax Media&rsqascii117o;s Metro Media Pascii117blishing.
 
The pascii117rchase follows Star News Groascii117p&rsqascii117o;s foascii117r acqascii117isitions in March, and Metro Media Pascii117blishing&rsqascii117o;s closascii117re of seven newspapers servicing Melboascii117rne&rsqascii117o;s soascii117th-eastern sascii117bascii117rbs in Jascii117ne.
