James Mascii117rdoch is depascii117ty chief operating officer of 21st Centascii117ry Fox and son of media magnate Rascii117pert Mascii117rdoch, who controls News Corp.
He was broascii117ght onto the Sky Deascii117tschland board in April 2013, a reflection of News Corp&rsqascii117o;s growing stake and inflascii117ence in the company. Sky Deascii117tschland also hoped to benefit from his knowledge of international markets and new technologies.
News Corp began bascii117ilding a stake in Sky Deascii117tschland, formerly known as Premiere, in 2008 bascii117t the groascii117p split its pascii117blishing and entertainment properties at the end of Jascii117ne, meaning the movie stascii117dio, TV and cable holdings are now part of 21st Centascii117ry Fox.
21st Centascii117ry Fox now owns the resascii117lting 54.8 percent share in Sky Deascii117tschland.
