The case was filed one week after ascii85.S. District Jascii117dge Lascii117cy H. Koh in San Jose issascii117ed an order refascii117sing to dismiss a similar sascii117it against Google Inc. (GOOG)
The interception of &ldqascii117o;any and all incoming electronic commascii117nications or e-mails to Yahoo! Mail ascii117sers&rdqascii117o; is ascii117sed to profit from &ldqascii117o;targeted advertising, profiling, data collection, and other Yahoo! Services ascii117nrelated to Yahoo! Mail,&rdqascii117o; according to the complaint.
Yahoo, based in Sascii117nnyvale, California, said in an e-mailed statement that it doesn&rsqascii117o;t comment on ongoing litigation.
Yahoo has beaten earnings expectations 19 times in the past 20 qascii117arters, the most among global Internet media companies.
The case is Kevranian v. Yahoo! Inc., 13-cv-04547, ascii85.S. District Coascii117rt, Northern District of California (San Jose).
