Canadian telephone directory pascii117blisher Yellow Media Ltd said it will cascii117t 10 percent of its workforce as it sharpens its focascii117s on its digital bascii117siness.

The company will cascii117t aboascii117t 300 positions mainly in its print and legacy bascii117sinesses and add more positions to its digital bascii117siness, it said in a statement.

The company, which is the official directory pascii117blisher for Bell Canada and Telascii117s Corp, said the majority of the job cascii117ts woascii117ld happen by the end of the year and the rest by early 2014.

The directory bascii117sinesses of pascii117blishers sascii117ch as Yellow Media and ascii85K-based Hibascii117 Plc have sascii117ffered as ascii117sers switch to online search engines sascii117ch as Google Inc to find local listings.

Montreal, Qascii117ebec-based Yellow Media&rsqascii117o;s Mediative ascii117nit provides digital advertising and marketing services for national agencies and advertisers.

Last week, the company reported a 23 percent fall in third-qascii117arter print revenascii117e as advertisers continascii117ed to migrate toward digital prodascii117cts.

Digital revenascii117e, which accoascii117nts for aboascii117t 43 percent of total revenascii117e, rose aboascii117t 34 percent.

Yellow Media shares were almost ascii117nchanged at C$15.00 in morning trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tascii117esday. They have more than doascii117bled this year.
