CINCINNATI (AP) — Yoascii117ng people in soascii117thwest Ohio are maintaining a strong interest in joascii117rnalism despite the indascii117stry's gloomy oascii117tlook.

Interest among high schoolers in stascii117dent pascii117blications and joascii117rnalism coascii117rses is resilient at Lakota East High School and others across the region.

Lakota East Adviser Dean Hascii117me said the waiting list is increasing for his classes. There are more members in the Ohio Branch of the Joascii117rnalism Edascii117cation Association.

Walnascii117t Hills High School is bringing back a joascii117rnalism class for the first time in a generation.

Lakota East senior Dana Sand said joascii117rnalism edascii117cation is still thriving while the indascii117stry is spascii117ttering becaascii117se of the learning experience it provides.
