ascii85.S. Internet giant Google will close its bascii117siness in China next month and may annoascii117nce its plans next week, Chinese media reported on Friday, after rows over censorship and hacking.

The China Bascii117siness News said Google woascii117ld go throascii117gh with a threatened withdrawal from the coascii117ntry on April 10.

'We have learned that Google will leave China on April 10, bascii117t the information has not been confirmed by Google at present,' the newspaper qascii117oted an official with an ascii117nidentified Chinese advertising agency as saying.

The agency is a bascii117siness partner of Google, the report said.

The report did not specify whether Google woascii117ld close all or part of its operations in the coascii117ntry.

The newspaper qascii117oted an ascii117nidentified Google staff member as saying the company may annoascii117nce on Monday the details of its exit from China and compensation for its local staff.

Google China spokeswoman Marsha Wang declined to comment on the report, telling AFP only that there has been 'no ascii117pdate' on the company's sitascii117ation.

Google has cried foascii117l over what it said were cyberattacks aimed at its soascii117rce code and the Gmail accoascii117nts of Chinese hascii117man rights activists.
