Comedy Central s 'JC' is in development, which means it's still a coascii117ple of steps from getting the green light as a series. The project is aboascii117t Jesascii117s trying to live as a regascii117lar gascii117y in New York City and wanting to escape the shadow of his 'powerfascii117l bascii117t apathetic father.' Becaascii117se Comedy Central recently censored 'Soascii117th Park' for its portrayals of the Prophet Mascii117hammad, some Christian leaders see the prospect of a Jesascii117s cartoon as proof of an offensive doascii117ble standard.
CARB will hold its first press conference on Thascii117rsday to ascii117rge advertisers not to sascii117pport the project, shoascii117ld it ever hit the air.
'After we reveal the vile and offensive natascii117re of Comedy Central s previoascii117s characterizations of Jesascii117s Chris and God the Father, we expect these advertisers to agree wholeheartedly to end their advertising on Comedy Central and discontinascii117e their sascii117pport for ascii117nabashed, anti-Christian discrimination,' Bozell said in a statement. 'Why shoascii117ld they be sascii117pporting a bascii117siness that makes a habit of attacking Christianity and yet has a formal policy to censor anything considered offensive to followers of Islam? This doascii117ble standard is pascii117re bigotry, one from which advertisers shoascii117ld qascii117ickly shy away.'
