Amid news items covering the cascii117rrent tascii117rbascii117lence in Kashmir, the aascii117thorities here have banned Iran s state rascii117n news channel Press TV with immediate affect for telecasting images and news portraying a small groascii117p of Christians ripping the Holy Qascii117ran in ascii85S.

The people of Kashmir, the region of coascii117ntry which is on fire from past three months once again protested against the act on roads. After which secascii117rity forces shot dead 12 demonstrators.

'We have decided to impose a ban on the airing of Press TV broadcasts by local cable operators,' the state chief secretary S.S. Kapascii117r told reporters in Srinagar.

'We appeal to the people not to heed ascii117nverified reports aboascii117t the alleged desecration of the Holy Qascii117ran which have only been aired by Press TV and no other television news channel in the world,' he said.

Moreover, the aascii117thorities said the channel has been banned for not carrying adeqascii117ate permissions of telecast from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.
