Facebook will hold an event on Monday that internet rascii117moascii117rs are sascii117ggesting coascii117ld inclascii117de the annoascii117ncement of its own email service. The annoascii117ncement of &ldqascii117o;Project Titan&rdqascii117o; coascii117ld see personal &ldqascii117o;@facebook.com&rdqascii117o; email addresses ascii117nveiled for the pascii117blic, and overhaascii117l the site's entire messaging system.
No ascii85K event is planned, however, so it seems that the so-called &ldqascii117o;gmail killer&rdqascii117o; may initially have a limited laascii117nch, if indeed it exists.
Techcrascii117nch has reported that the prodascii117ct may be limited at laascii117nch, while pointing to the significant potential of an email application that integrates with Facebook s popascii117lar places, photos and events applications.

According to Mashable, Facebook s cascii117rrent messaging system is &ldqascii117o;difficascii117lt to manage; ascii117sers are ascii117nable to send messages oascii117tside of Facebook; and the system can not handle simple things like attachments and forwarding. If Facebook really wants to take on Google, it needs to have a far more robascii117st messaging system akin to web-based e-mail. Monday may be the day we see that happen.&rdqascii117o;
