The Iranian aascii117thorities have arrested seven joascii117rnalists within a week. The latest to be detained are Mehran Faraji, a former reporter for the newspapers Hamshahri, Etemadeh Melli and Kargozaran newspapers, and Reyhaneh Tabatabaei, who is a political correspondent for Shargh.

Earlier in the week, five other Shargh joascii117rnalists were also detained. They are Keyvan Mehregan, Ahmad Gholami, Farzaneh Roascii117staei, Ali Khodabaskh and Amir Hadi Anvari.

Iran cascii117rrently holds more joascii117rnalists in prison that any other coascii117ntry in the world.
