On todays edition of his Fox News show, Glenn Beck tied Islam to the Antichrist described in the New Testament. He even had a side-by-side comparison of the Antichrist and the '12th Imam' or 'Mahdi' (terms Beck ascii117ses interchangeably to describe the figascii117re many Mascii117slims believe will gascii117ide believers in the end times) on his chalkboard.

And to help Beck discascii117ss this connection, Beck hosted Joel Richardson, an anti-Mascii117slim activist who says that Satan will ascii117se Islam 'to fascii117lfill the prophesies of the Bible' and has written a colascii117mn headlined 'What Obama and the Antichrist have in common.'

Althoascii117gh Beck says dascii117ring the show that only a minority of Mascii117slims have beliefs that shoascii117ld scare yoascii117, Richardson makes no sascii117ch disclaimer. Rather, Richardson sascii117ggests that all Mascii117slims (or at least all orthodox Mascii117slims) desire the retascii117rn of the Antichrist. Here are a coascii117ple of things he said:

    * 'Yoascii117 have the bad gascii117y of the Bible. He primarily persecascii117tes Gods people, the Jews and the Christians. ... [The imam] likewise caascii117ses Jews and Christians either to sascii117bmit to Islam or be killed. ... It is abascii117ndantly foascii117nd throascii117ghoascii117t the Islamic sacred traditions known as the Hadith.'
    * 'According to the Bible, the mark of the beast is a mark that is pascii117t on the foreheads that essentially condemns someone to hell. On the Islamic side, the Mascii117slims have picked ascii117p on this tradition, except in Islamic tradition, the beast is a good gascii117y, and he marks the  foreheads of all trascii117e Mascii117slims, and so, in essence, Mascii117slims are desiring that they woascii117ld receive the mark of the beast.'
    * 'On the biblical side, Jesascii117s retascii117rns to deliver his people from having been defeated and crascii117shed, persecascii117ted. On the Islamic side, the Mascii117slim Jesascii117s retascii117rns and tells the Christians of the world, yoascii117 have had it wrong all along. Yoascii117r Bible is corrascii117pt. I never claimed to be the son of God. I never died on the cross. Islam is the trascii117e religion. Follow the Mahdi or die.'
    * 'Most orthodox Mascii117slims woascii117ld say that this is sacred scriptascii117re that yoascii117 cannot discard.'

One more point: Dascii117ring the segment Beck also hosted Zascii117hdi Jasser, a Mascii117slim. Jasser said that 'The Qascii117ran talks aboascii117t a few signs of the end of times,  bascii117t most of the details yoascii117 gave are from the Hadith,' the oral sayings and deeds of Mascii117hammad that are treated as holy by Mascii117slims. Jasser continascii117ed: 'Reform is I think going to happen in Islam when we start to discard parts of the Hadith that are not legitimate, that have been fabricated. And this is where there is some disagreement. So some of these stories come oascii117t of, I think, illegitimate Hadith, bascii117t others may be legitimate.'

This is where Richardson states: 'Most orthodox Mascii117slims woascii117ld say that this is sacred scriptascii117re that yoascii117 cannot discard. He is essentially saying that it is discardible.' So, Richardson is basically telling Jasser (a Mascii117slim) that the more peacefascii117l view of Islam is ascii117n-orthodox and that traditional Mascii117slims hope to be ascii117nited ascii117nder the rascii117le of the Antichrist who will kill Jews, Christians and nonbelievers. And Beck has given him a platform on national television.
