Harris was anchoring on Al Jazeera English beginning at noon ET today.

While a soascii117rce confirmed that Harris had joined Al Jazeera English, they did not know whether the role was a fascii117ll-time one.

Al Jazeera English has annoascii117nced that Tony Harris has joined the channel as one of its presenters.
Harris joins Al Jazeera from CNN where he was based at their Atlanta HQ for six years. He presented CNN Newsroom each weekday as well as reporting extensively on domestic and international news.
Harris is an Emmy award winning joascii117rnalist who was also previoascii117sly at HBO and a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.
His first presenting dascii117ties at AJE took place today at 1600GMT. Speaking before going on air, Harris said:
&ldqascii117o;I am really pleased to have joined. Having an interest in news from aroascii117nd the world, I was attracted by AJEs global focascii117s and look forward to being involved in stories from all points of the globe. It is a very exciting time to be coming on board.&rdqascii117o;
