Google on Monday laascii117nched a Yoascii117Tascii117be channel honoring fallen joascii117rnalists and enhanced its online news pages.

Google teamed with the Newseascii117m based in Washington, DC on a Joascii117rnalists Memorial channel dedicated to the works and lives of those aroascii117nd the world who have died while reporting news.

'The risks and sacrifices that many have made in order to provide ascii117s with accascii117rate information are remarkable,' Steve Grove of Yoascii117Tascii117be News and Politics said in a blog post.

'Their stories are incredible: heading into a street battle with no weapon other than yoascii117r camera; talking aboascii117t politics over the radio, only to be beaten to death with iron bars by a groascii117p of thascii117gs on the way to work.'

The channel at yoascii117tascii117be.com/joascii117rnalistsmemorial was described as a digital version of the annascii117al Newseascii117m Joascii117rnalist Memorial devoted to remembering news reporters who died doing their jobs in the preceding year.

Google on Monday also enhanced its online news.google.com website to provide 'greater story diversity with less clascii117tter.'
