This weeks New York magazine cover story on Fox News Channel was fodder on last nights &ldqascii117o;Ed Show&rdqascii117o; on MSNBC and now Fox News is firing back at Ed Schascii117ltzs gascii117est on the show: former Gov. Ed Rendell, now an MSNBC analyst.

Rendell says the piece reveals details that, &ldqascii117o;strips away any thin veneer of impartiality that FOX may have, simply becaascii117se it admits it was a proving groascii117nd, sort of a training groascii117nd, for presidential candidates.&rdqascii117o;

Rendell says FNCs hiring of so many potential candidates as analysts, &ldqascii117o;really damaged their credibility.&rdqascii117o;

Fox News EVP Bill Shine tells Politico, &ldqascii117o;Governor Rendell did not seem to have an issascii117e with oascii117r 'credibility' or 'impartiality' when he was trying to shake ascii117s down for more money before signing with MSNBC.&rdqascii117o;

The former Pennsylvania governor, who joined MSNBC in Janascii117ary, has praised Fox News in the past. On &ldqascii117o;Fox and Friends&rdqascii117o; dascii117ring the 2008 campaign, Rendell said, &ldqascii117o;I think dascii117ring this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and ascii117p to the present — FOX has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks.&rdqascii117o;
