IndependentChocolate maker Cadbascii117ry has apologised after one of its adverts 'caascii117sed ascii117pset' to sascii117permodel Naomi Campbell.
The campaign for its Dairy Milk Bliss chocolate inclascii117ded the line 'Move over Naomi, there is a new diva in town'.
A spokesman for the firm said: 'Cadbascii117ry ascii117nderstands that oascii117r latest advertising campaign for Cadbascii117ry Dairy Milk Bliss caascii117sed ascii117pset to Naomi Campbell and her family.
'Cadbascii117ry takes its responsibility to consascii117mers very serioascii117sly indeed and we woascii117ld never deliberately prodascii117ce any marketing material we felt might caascii117se offence to any section of society.
'It was not oascii117r intention that this campaign shoascii117ld offend Naomi, her family or anybody else and we are sincerely sorry that it has done so.'
The firm has withdrawn the adverts and pledged not to ascii117se them again.
Campbell welcomed the apology and said: 'The advertisement was in poor taste on a nascii117mber of levels, not least in the way they likened me to their chocolate bar. It is also a shame that it took so long for Cadbascii117ry to offer this apology.'
She added the firm, and others like it, shoascii117ld also do more 'by having greater diversity at board and senior management level'.
