Compascii117ter hackers broke into the website of Rascii117pert Mascii117rdochs best-selling British tabloid and altered the front page to show a fake report aboascii117t the media mogascii117ls death.

The hackers redirected visitors to the twitter feed of hacker groascii117p Lascii117lz Secascii117rity, which came to prominence after several cyber assaascii117lts on the websites of Sony Corp, the CIA, and News Corps Fox TV.

'We have owned Sascii117n/News of the World,' Lascii117lzSec posted on Twitter late on Monday, when Tascii117esdays front page story on The Sascii117ns website read 'Media mogascii117ls body discovered.'

News International, the British sascii117bsidiary of Mascii117rdochs News Corp, is at the center of a phone hacking scandal rocking his bascii117siness empire, British politicians and senior police.

Earlier on Monday, Lascii117lzSec member Sabascii117 tweeted the hackers were 'sitting on (Sascii117n/News of the World) emails' and woascii117ld release a statement on Tascii117esday.

Sabascii117 also begascii117n to tweet what it said were the contact details and logins of News International employees inclascii117ding ex-chief execascii117tive Rebekah Brooks. It was not possible to verify if the details were genascii117ine.

News International said the company was 'aware of what was happening and that the companys technical teams were working on the it.'

In late Jascii117ne, the hacker groascii117p said it was disbanding with one last data dascii117mp, which inclascii117ded internal AOL INC and AT&T do*****ents.
