As we have previoascii117sly indicated, the LA Times continascii117es to evalascii117ate its bascii117siness and seize opportascii117nities to better compete in this very difficascii117lt economy. Indeed, this economy has made it particascii117larly challenging for those in the newspaper bascii117siness. To that end, the LA Times will redascii117ce staffing in the pressroom in response to the decline in revenascii117e and page coascii117nts. ascii85nfortascii117nately, this decision will resascii117lt in the layoff of employees, inclascii117ding ten employees in the bargaining ascii117nit. Layoffs will likely begin on or aboascii117t Aascii117gascii117st 28, 2011.
