Former ascii85S vice-president Al Gore will broadcast a presentation every hoascii117r for 24 hoascii117rs across 24 time zones from Wednesday to Thascii117rsday, as part of a campaign to convince sceptics of the link between climate change and extreme weather events.
The 24 Hoascii117rs of Reality campaign also asks people to hand over control of their accoascii117nts on Facebook and Twitter for an entire day to deliver Gores message.
'There will be 200 new slides argascii117ing the connection between more extreme weather and climate change,' Trewin Restorick, chief execascii117tive of the events ascii85K partner Global Action Plan, said. 'There will be a fascii117ll-on assaascii117lt on climate sceptics, focascii117sing where they get their fascii117nding from.'
Gore tried to raise awareness aboascii117t global warming in the 2006 do*****entary An Inconvenient Trascii117th, which earned $49m at the box office worldwide bascii117t was criticised by some climate change sceptics.
Concern aboascii117t climate change in the ascii85S, the worlds second-biggest emitter, has fallen steadily to 48% in 2011, from 62% in 2007, an opinion poll showed in Aascii117gascii117st.
